Trust Economy Needs More than Automation: From CRM to Relationship Intelligence

A letter for all partners, customers, and stakeholders.

My name is Eric Holmen, and I recently made the most exciting move of my career. After thirty years of leading sales and marketing technology companies, I have joined Revenue Grid as CEO.

Over the past 6 months, I spent time with our customers, our team, our co-founders, and the people who built this company from the ground up. I’ve listened to what they care about, and three things became very clear to me.

Three Things Became Clear

First, the technology that was supposed to help businesses manage relationships never actually did. CRM has the word “relationship” right in the name, but it became a system for tracking deals, not understanding people. The market knows it. CRM giants have been losing value for years because people can see that the model has run its course.

Second, AI is making everything faster in exchange for trusting everything less. In the industries where relationships carry the most weight, speed without trust is a non-starter. More is being sent, and less is being believed. We know that human-only service will not keep up, but AI-only service will not be trusted.

And third, Revenue Grid is uniquely positioned to solve this. Over many years, this company has assembled one of the deepest relationship data assets in the industry. Every conversation, every stakeholder connection, every interaction between an organization and its customers has been captured automatically, without asking teams to change how they work.

The Relationship Intelligence Platform for the Trust Economy

Revenue Grid already does what no one else in this market can do: capture, structure, and make actionable the full depth of an organization’s relationship data. That foundation is proven.

But we have bigger ambitions.

We are building Revenue Grid into the relationship intelligence platform for industries where trust is the operating currency. One that understands what happened between your organization and your customers, where those relationships stand right now, and the fully informed next actions that will protect and grow them.

Because all growth begins with trusted relationships.

Now it’s about execution, and that starts with three commitments.

Three Commitments

Three commitments sit at the center of everything we do from here.

We Optimize for the Full Relationship, Not Just the Current Deal

Revenue Grid will always be built around the full context of a relationship. Not a snapshot of a single deal or a single quarter, but the complete picture over time: every conversation, every stakeholder, every interaction that shaped the trust between your organization and theirs. This will help us show you where your relationships are strong, and where they might be starting to fade. We build a knowledgebase for our customers, we help our customers achieve their objectives with automations and AI, and we automatically complete the systems of records that run their business.

That is a deliberate choice, and it shapes every product decision we make.

We Don’t Cut Corners on Compliance

The industries where relationship intelligence matters most are the same industries where compliance requirements are the most punishing. For example, Know Your Customer is not a best practice in financial services. It is a legal obligation. A missed communication can trigger a formal complaint.

We already exceed the highest compliance standards of customer we have worked with, including some of the largest financial services firms in the world. That is not a claim we make lightly. It is the product of years of engineering decisions, security architecture, and an institutional refusal to cut corners on data handling.

This is the reason why customers operating in high-compliance environments can trust us with their most sensitive relationship data. And it is the reason competitors who were not built for this world cannot simply decide to show up one day and compete.

Complexity is Our Problem, Not The Customers’

Enterprise CRM environments are brutal. Custom objects, custom workflows, custom fields. Six business units running six different Salesforce implementations with six different sets of requirements, all rolling up into one organization that needs a single view of its relationships.

Most platforms break under this weight. Or they survive it, but only after a year-long implementation that costs more than the software itself.

Revenue Grid was built for this from day one.

We can take existing data and reshape it into whatever custom structure a business needs today. And when the requirements change tomorrow, a new field, a new business unit, a new compliance rule, we reshape again without starting from scratch. Our largest customers came to us with problems they had been told were unsolvable. They are no longer unsolvable.

I see a future where the technology you work with behaves less like software you have to use and more like a partner you work alongside.

What’s About to Come: More Meaningful, Not Just More Automated

Technology should act as a partner that understands your context, watches what’s happening across your relationships, and helps you show up better at every interaction.

We’re already moving in this direction.

AI Agents That Watch Your Relationships

Revenue Grid has a family of AI agents, and we’re building on that foundation toward a truly agentic platform. These are context-aware tools that understand your workflow and know what is relevant to the relationships you manage.

They’ll monitor external sources for signals relevant to the people and companies you work with — news, leadership changes, market shifts — and surface what matters before your next conversation. Instead of spending 30 minutes scrambling to prep before a client meeting, you’d walk in already briefed, with full context on what has changed since your last interaction and what is likely to matter most right now.

These are purpose-built relationship agents that watch your connections over time and proactively tell you when something needs attention. When they spot something, they prepare the next step for you: the message, the context, and the best path to reach out.

Decisions Stay with Humans

These are not autonomous systems. They prepare, they recommend, they surface what matters. And then a human being makes the decision. That’s by design. In the trust economy, you don’t want technology making decisions for you. You want it to make you better at making decisions yourself.

The end state is not less human interaction. It’s more meaningful human interactions.

Teams that actually know their customers. Advisors who never drop the thread on something that mattered eighteen months ago. Organizations where institutional memory doesn’t disappear when someone changes roles.

That’s the future Revenue Grid is building. A world where trusted humans are amplified by AI, and relationship intelligence becomes the foundation for smarter growth in high-compliance industries.

A vision like this only becomes real if you put the right people behind it. And that is exactly what we are doing.

The People We’ve Brought In

CHIEF PRODUCT OFFICER

Sandeep Soman

Sandeep brings over 25 years of experience building and scaling SaaS products, with a career that has consistently lived at the intersection of sales productivity and AI. He has led product organizations at Brainshark and Qstream, building AI-powered coaching and sales enablement platforms from the ground up. He has founded companies, scaled teams past major revenue milestones, and operated in environments where compliance and security were table stakes.

The reason I hired Sandeep is not just his resume. It is the way he thinks about Revenue Grid and our customers, and how this aligns with our vision. He sees Revenue Grid not as a layer of analytics on top of CRM, but as a system of execution that lives in the workflow of the people who use it. He is exactly the leader we need to turn our roadmap into reality.

DIRECTOR OF PRODUCT MARKETING

Kaitlyn Hogue

Kaitlyn spent four years at Roblox during its hypergrowth phase, led product marketing at Airship and Samba TV, and has spent the last two years consulting for adtech and martech companies on positioning, go-to-market strategy, and sales enablement.

She knows how to take complex technology and turn it into a market narrative that customers and buyers actually understand. That skill is critical for us right now because we are not just launching features. We are redefining a category. Kaitlyn is already reshaping how we communicate what Revenue Grid does and why it matters.

These folks are the first proof points of a direction we’re fully committed to.

An Invitation

I’m building Revenue Grid for people who believe that all growth begins with trusted relationships.

If you work in an industry where trust is the foundation of every client relationship, where getting it right matters more than getting it fast, I’d like you to be part of this conversation.

We’re building a community of leaders, practitioners, and thinkers who care about making trusted humans extraordinary at what they do with the help of tools.

In the weeks and months ahead, we’ll be sharing our perspective on what’s changing in the trust economy through essays, research, conversations with industry leaders, and events.

If that resonates, follow the link and drop your email.
